SPATIAL SIMULATION AND EVALUATION
New tools in architectural and urban design
Conference target
The exact notation and evaluation of space in architectural and urban structures requires an experimental approach. Spatial simulation has become a good tool as a method in order to represent urban-architectural drafts and subjective verifications of the manifestations of the structure that is being formed on a physical or virtual model in real time and in real (virtual) space. Furthermore, visual spatial experiences in the natural horizon of the future internal spatial scenery participant can be anticipated using optical and electronic equipment.
The educational process of architects requires a didactic orientation on visual abstraction and development of a medial imagination competence for individual creative ideas. From this point of view, interactive methods of spatial visualization in an analogue or digital form based on the principles of spatial endoscopy result relevant. It is possible to state, that spatial analogue and digital modeling is an indispensable tool of generative design and of the creative process in architecture and town planning. The notation and evaluation of sensual experiences of the environment has a similar significance, as they are the programmed outputs of spatial simulation. Of equal importance is the interconnection between creation (design) and evaluation.
The aim of the conference shall be to review the possibilities and limits of multimedia use/applications of the tools for spatial representations in the future development of the new generation of architectural imaging communications and information systems. An integral part would be compatibility testing of the methods and tools of spatial simulation and evaluation as well as verification of the possibilities for participation of relevant disciplines in this specific area.
